Writing
How do I find a rhyme?
When you're not typing, the last word of each line has a dotted underline. Tap it (or click it on a Mac) and choose Find Rhymes to see perfect rhymes and near rhymes.
What are the letters in the margin?
That's your rhyme scheme. Lines that rhyme share a letter and a colour. Tap Abc to show or hide it.
How do I look up a word?
Tap the word and choose Find Meaning. The definition comes from your device's built-in dictionary.
How do I bookmark a page?
Tap the bookmark button at the top of the page. Each notebook has one bookmark, and you can jump straight to it from the contents page.
Importing and sharing
How do I bring in lyrics I've already written?
On a notebook's contents page, tap import lyrics and choose Paste Lyrics… or From a File…. You can also use More ▸ Import… on the shelf. Versatile shows you the song it found, with its title and sections, before anything is added.
Which files can I import?
Plain text, Markdown, RTF, Word (.docx) and PDF files, plus songs and notebooks exported from Versatile. Older Word files (.doc) and Pages documents can't be read yet. Save them as .docx or PDF first.
How do I print or share a song?
Tap the Share button at the top of a song. You can send the lyrics as text or a PDF lyric sheet, print them, or export the whole notebook as one PDF.
Sync and safety
My songs aren't showing up on my other device
Versatile syncs through iCloud. Check that each device is signed in to the same Apple Account, that iCloud is turned on, and that the device is online. The sync label at the top of a notebook shows what's happening. If it says “On this iPhone” (or iPad, or Mac), that device isn't signed in to iCloud.
I deleted a song by mistake
Go to More ▸ Recently Deleted on the shelf. Deleted songs and notebooks stay there for 30 days.
Does Versatile keep backups?
Yes. Versatile saves a daily backup on each device. You'll find them under More ▸ Backups on the shelf.

Versatile is free with one notebook and up to three songs, with every writing tool included. Versatile Pro is a one-time purchase that adds unlimited songs and notebooks and every notebook style.
I bought Pro, but it isn't unlocked on this device
Go to More ▸ Unlock Versatile Pro… on the shelf and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy it. One purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
